Red Hood

Jason Todd started out his life as a street slumming thief that found his fate and destiny wrapped up in the Batmobile's tires. His attempts to steal them were thwarted by the Batman himself. He was brought under the wing of the Dark Knight and trained to be his second Robin. They were a good enough team, though Jason's rage made him more violent and unpredictable than his predecessor. When a criminal died by Jason's hand, a rift was formed between Batman and Robin and Jason's journey towards his own darkness began.

Tricked by his own biological mother, Jason was led into a trap set up by the Joker, where he was beaten within an inch of his life and then blown up. His death was unavenged by the Batman and Jason was dead for quite some time. Nobody really understands how Jason was resurrected, but soon after he was found by Talia Al Ghul, tossed into the Lazarus Pit and brought back to a level of consciousness that would be useful.

Training commenced with the League and Jason trained in various areas, each one making him more deadly and more dangerous than he was before. Helping him to use his rage and embrace it. However, once Jason found out that the Joker still lived, he broke off his training and returned to Gotham with the darkest of intentions in mind. Operating as an anti-heroic mercenary known as the Red Hood, Jason fights the forces of whatever-is-in-his-way with his own special brand of outlaw justice.

Recent Events

Jason Todd is three things: a Brat. a Badass. and Batman. It is an opinion that Jason Todd is the closest thing to Bruce Wayne that any Robin is ever going to be. He is dark and angst-ridden, broody, but still manages to come off with a sardonic and somewhat twisted sense of humor that can go too far one way at any given moment. He's a wild card, his motives hard to read and unpredictable, while at the same time presenting a side that shows that he really does want to do good… just his own version of good. He's not evil. He's not /all/ bad. He's an honest to goodness anti-hero with a good, but confused, heart. He is, in a lot of ways, the Hipster of the Bat Family. He will often do or say things just to rile up the others or even full on piss them off, while still fighting his own mental battle to try and outdo them all. He still fights for Batman's approval or to be the "favorite" son and that's something that will never change. In a lot of ways, Jason is like a baby throwing a never-ending temper tantrum. No matter what happens, he just won't be satisfied.

Jason Todd feels that he represents a voice that is very rarely heard by the masses. A true anti-hero voice that can and will play all sides of every fence, but also remain in that position. Far too often people try to lean Full Good or Full Evil but Jason Todd manages to remain on that line, always switching it up before he gets too comfortable on either side of it. One moment he can be committing a crime and the next he could be saving children from a hospital that may be rigged to explode. Jason stays in the gray areas of this vigilante lifestyle to shed some confusing light onto what otherwise may be a constant struggle between good and evil.

RP Hooks

Gotham Underground: The Red Hood is a player in the Gotham Underground scene. Crime. Shooting Crime In The Face. Punching Gotham Knights. Fighting Alongside Gotham Knights. There's a bunch of things that Red Hood is involved in when it comes to the seedy underbelly of Gotham.

Josie Wales: The Red Hood isn't exactly looking for people to team up with and create a group of like-minded individuals that provide a bond and family for him since he's not exactly allowed in his previous one. But should he happen upon such people in his travels then the Outlaws may become official.

Bat Brat: Red Hood gives off all the vibes of a Bat Brat. Just one that kind of flew away from the belfry. He's on his own for the most part and often clashes with the rest of his Bat Family but keeps a complicated relationship with them. Never know what these relations might lead to.

League: Jason Todd still has connections with the al Ghuls and their League. The relationship is tense but there. Some alliances never die. Neither do some enemies. Jason Todd considers the league to be both.

Anti-Joker Syndrome: Jason Todd suffers from a not-so-rare disease that causes him to have an unwavering hatred for The Joker. He wants to kill him. Want to help him? Want to stop him? Want to just lock these two in a room and see what happens?

Character Sheet

Got Better.

That counts, right?

  • "My name is Jason Todd. Or better known to the NSA, CIA, Homeland Security, FBI, KGB, Mossad and Interpol as the Red Hood."
  • "So here I am. A "hero"? A "villain"? I'm the guy who can do the things that Batman can't… become someone that Batman won't. Am I the man Bruce wanted me to become? Not even close. But someday soon he'll realize… I'm exactly who he needs."
