Discipline

This is a game. Games are supposed to be fun. Rules help to make a game stay fun. We strive to ensure that our players enjoy this respite from the real world. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse; please read them all.

While all game rules should be followed, some items warrant greater punishment than others. Mistakes and misunderstandings happen. Will we siteban someone because they forgot to ask to join a scene? No. (But it may make it so others won't want to play with you.) Will we siteban someone for harassing a player after being asked repeatedly to stop? Abso-friggin'-lutely.

Common Descent MUSH typically follows a '3 Strike' disciplinary policy. In the event of a larger rule infraction such as RPing beyond your approved abilities without permission or repeatedly power-posing in scenes with other characters, that policy is as follows:

Strike 1: A simple warning via official @mail from the Admin. A staff-visible mark will be placed on all of player's characters.

Strike 2: A meeting with admin to discuss the situation and resolve it. A second mark will be issued.

Strike 3: You're out. This might include suspension or a permanent siteban, based upon the infraction and consensus of staff.

For harassment, there will only ever be one warning issued before a player is sitebanned.

Note: For particularly egregious abuses that threaten the game or emotional or physical well-being of other players, staff reserves the right to siteban without warning.

Questions about this policy should be directed to game admin.
