GOT ANY SPARE CHANGE?

It was a quick phone call. A man answered the phone. Asked a couple of questions. Wouldn't give any answers. Gave the address of an abandoned and mostly derelict warehouse in Brooklyn, covered with vines and broken windows.

There, on the sidewalk, Paige and Sam would find someone's crazy-glued a couple of quarters and pennies, right next to an opening in the rusting fence and barbed wire .

It's after dark, about fifteen minutes before the arrival time, and there's distant sirens, the sounds of the city floating over this lonely corner of Brooklyn.

* * *

Sam Guthrie is not overly worried about coming out after dark, but ha had wore different clothes tonight. He has on skinny leg jeans as well, as a decently tight t-shirt. He makes sure there is nothing hanging to grab him by. He is watching about the area and will smirk stepping on the change probably finding it that way.

* * *

Paige Guthrie heads to Grand Central.

* * *

Paige Guthrie arrives from Grand Central.

* * *

Easy enough to get through the holes, especially if they wore closer-fitting clothing.

There was a worn path through the undergrowth, leading to a loading dock door, which was shut — and a little side door, which had the glint of a razor blade along the handle and a very polite sticky-note that said 'Please knock'.

* * *

Sam Guthrie is tempted to knock a bit harder than he should, but he will walk over. He will calmly remove the razor blade, making sure no other bobby traps and then knock on the door firmly, but not power knocking.

* * *

Following Sam is Paige, who is dressed in all black in the form of dark jeans, a snug t-shirt and a heavy black jacket to ward away the winter cold. Her hair is a dark brown today with green eyes, instead of her blonde and blue. She shed her skin earlier for a new identity. "Nice. Real charmin' decor." She drawls out.

* * *

The door opens, slowly. A face peers out at them, and then opens the door to welcome them inside.

It's clear that this guy is a mutant. He has discolorations in myriad browns and grays against his body. A lot of it is peeling. His nose is three times the size it should be, and he shuffles on duck-like webbed feet.

"S-sorry… s-s-s-slow." he stutters, "I'm S-Salamander. You mus-st b-be S-S-S-S-Sam and Bu-Buh-Blister." he stammers, limping.

"T-th-this way. S-Sorry you have to s-s-see-see us during rebuil-d-ding." his voice hisses, but it's warm and friendly, unlike the exterior. "O-only a f-f-f-f-few of us l-luh-lee-… s-still here."

The Guthries are lead through a winding maze of hastily erected block walls, painted black, with boards placed over the top to construct a second floor — but when they arrive at the center of the building, what they find is rough.

There's a sparring circle. There's a lot of blood on the floor, and scorch marks on the walls. Scrawled on the walls are MUTANTS FIRST, HOMO SUPERIOR and THE NEXT STEP IN EVOLUTION.

And there's guns. A lot of guns. Knives. Minor explosives. Flashbangs. Military grade body armor.

… and a lot of hungry looking people, aside from Salamander Sam and Paige might recognize Smoker (who's gotten his nose set, and is covered with bandages) and Phil, who's apparently the team doctor, stitching up another guy who looks like he's gotten hell pummeled out of him. There are hammocks and sleeping bags set up in corners.

Above the boards that were placed on top of the block wall maze, there's an obsticle course, of sorts. It looks slap-dashed together and like it might collapse at any minute. There's a door marked "MILITANT", with white paint over military olive metal to one side, and up above everything else, where some mechanics might have been when this was a proper factory was a little cubby with a hammock, some books, but no one in it.

* * *

Sam Guthrie 's brow raises a bit as he looks around. He does make a plan for later. He scans the area, looking over at the guy who is being sewn up trying to figure out how he got sliced open. he does check out the course a bit knowing he has probably ran worse when he was 16.

* * *

As she makes her way in, Paige gives a glance about here and there, memorizing all the details, faces, and potential exit strategies. "Hey there, Salamander. Nice ta' meetcha." She says in her hick drawl as her arms sway at her sides with her gait. She gives a jerk of her head upwards towards Smoke and Phil in a 'sup' motion, then eyes the bloody sparring ring, then the weapons mounted along the walls.

"Huh." She says to Sam as she bumps her shoulder to him. "You really needed ta' use a codename. Like Rocket Jump." She smirks, cracking her neck to one side.

* * *

It's a pretty intense — and not at all safe — parkour training course.

There is blood on there, too, in places. There was a fight in there.

The place reeks and smells like a leaky toilet.

"Heh! N-Ni-ce to have someone p-p-polite coming in." Salamander gives a small smile to Paige.

That's when the door marked MILITANT opened, and the blond, strong man who looks like Kurt Russel crossed with John Cena makes his way out from the office, and crosses his arms. He is tattooed, all over his chest, with skulls and violence, hanging bodies, and accross his chest there is "LUSUS NATURAE" in Gothic lettering.

He is built. And there is literally not a scratch or scar on him.

"So, two of you?" he questions as he looks at Sam and Paige, seemingly trying to stare through them.

* * *

Sam Guthrie nods, and says "Yup. you can count, think thats a bit better than Smoker could do." He looks over to blister and says "How about Iron Dram." he says with a term from making burban." He turns back to Militant "Yes, the boys there thought my sister was the right one, the cute girl got my attention a bit more though.

* * *

"No, that's a stupid name." Husk says to her brother with a snort, eyes rolling upwards. She gives MillerTime a sizing up and says. "I'm just here because I heard there was free beer." She says with a flash of her teeth. "That and you guys are looking to lay a bit of a beat down on the system. I'm down with that. I'm over those fucking pigs pushing us down and stomping on our throats."

* * *

"Ha, you've got spirit, kid." Militant states, and Jimmy Miller rises up, looking around at the others.

"I would have been content if they'd just made it voluntary registration. After all, I volunteered. I did my time, and when they decided they were going to make us all register, make it easier for those who hunt us to hunt us down? Nah. Not on my watch." he gives a smile to Husk, and looks over her. "Tommy said you were a blonde though. Nice. We lost our shapeshifter a while back, and Salamander… well, he tries, but can't hide his feet or his nose, eh?"

Several laugh. The few women who are here look away. Salamander doesn't laugh, he retreats a step or two, looking nervous "He's got his uses, though. Disgusting as he is."

He turns his attention to Sam then, and walks aaround him. He's a few inche taller than even Guthrie.

"So. 'Sam from Kentucky' with an iron chin. Gotta admit, I was surprised when you said my girl recruited you.She's usually the distraction, occasionally the ace in the hole." he gives a sour-breathed smile at Sam. His teeth are filed to points.

"Tommy also told me you've got the hots for my girlfriend."

* * *

Sam Guthrie does not flinch away looking at the man, and says "What can I say, Mary Poppins kick started puberty for me." He does frown a bit when the man talks down about Salamander, and will add "Ah believe she may have seen a need for someone to keep jack asses who want to think they are better than others cause their powers are more combative in check." He follows the man with his eyes as he walks around him, but trusts Paige to have his back if the guy tries anything while behind him.

* * *

"Ah wouldn't have registered even if it was voluntary. Soon as they collect yah' info, yah powers, and ya' history, that's when the government will wanna start using you for military purposes, clone yah, cut you up, threaten ya family if you don't go along with it." Husk spits on the ground with a snarl in her throat. "Nah, fuck that. We'd always be second class citizens to 'em."

Her eyes trail after Sam as well for a moment, watching him and he interacts with the other men. Her neck cracks to one side again. "Sammy always been ah' sucker for a pretty face. Ah'm sure if he knew that was yah' girl, he'd have checked himself."

* * *

"b-b-bu-… but Alexis isn't-t s-se-seeing anyone." Salamander states, his webbed feet tapping nervously as Militant circles Cannonball and Husk. He nervously hems and haws and shrinks back further when the gang leader glares over to him, and he squeaks and turns, the patchy, cracking, peeling skin catching on some wood.

"You're welcome to stay, Blister. I like your spirit." he states, not looking to Paige, but he does cross his arms as he looks at Sam.

"You, on the other hand…" he gives a small grin. "Suvker for a pretty face, yeah?"

* * *

Sam Guthrie shrugs a bit and says "At times, but luckily not a problem right now." He does watch around the room for a moment, checking to see if the man talking is really the leader or the muscle. He crosses his arms, and says "Seems like Ah may not be the only one though to be honest." He grins and says "Ah think he may think he has a chance with ya sis."

* * *

"Maybe. Ah' do like mah' men /thick/." Paige says cooly as she keeps her arms folded over her chest, hands settled on her bare elbows. She rocks on her hips slightly. "So, nice place yah' got. What's yah' mission statement? Kinda wanna hear it from th' big dog's mouth. Smokey and Phil wasn't real forthcoming with all th' deets. What would you like us ta' do for yah?"

* * *

"Smo-ker! Smo/ker/! Like the Joker but —"

"Oh, shut it Tommy." Phil snarls, going to wash his hands.

"I have a girlfriend, thank you." Militant states sternly.

And at that he turns, unflapped by the statements.

"You need not worry about it. I'm not expecting you to fight, Blister. Your skills are better used elsewhere, even if your acting requires a little work." he states gloomily, "Sam from Kentucky, on the other hand, we're a limited admittance establishment, and we've only got the one opening."

"Kill Salamander, and you can hear about our plans."

* * *

Sam Guthrie shakes his head, and says "Not going to happen." He will walk over towards Salamander. "He is one of us, and if you believe in turning on our own, then sounds like your spot is the one Ah should take." He will stand between Salamander and the others, but makes sure he is not in arms reach of Salamander either. He keeps the man in his peripheral vision. "Killing our kind is what those who would have us register would do."

* * *

"Ah agree. Killing each otha' off is bullshit. Sides, every army needs their front line soldiers." Paige cracks her neck to one side with a range of loud pops. "Like Sam said, why make the flatscans job easier than it already is?" She keeps her arms folded, muscles tensing beneath her arms. "Sides, me and Sammy are kinda a package deal."

* * *

Salamander looks shocked.

"B-b-but… but Jimmy! I'm on=one-one of the original Sp-Sp-Spa—"

Militant draws a gun from his holster, and he points the pistol right at Salamander, and looks out the corner of his eye at Sam, then at Paige.

"No. Fifteen is our number. We replace them as we need to. I killed the weak, sob-story leader of Spare Change." he states, and motions, "And I turned a nomadic group of theives into a family. A Warrior Clan!" he exclaims.

Salamander still looks terrified.

"But we're only as strong as the weakest members — and like they say, girl, you gotta crack a couple eggs."

The gun comes down again!

And Sam would see a familiar face walk in, though now she's sporting a shiner. ALexis Carr's cheek is swollen and cut, her eye swelling nearly shut.

Sal, in spite of the mortal danger he's in, turns and quietly asks: "A-ah-Alex-is — wh-wh-wh-what happened?"

* * *

Sam Guthrie 's hands ball into fists. He has to resist the urge to fly across the room at the man. He does start to walk towards him, making sure to keep himself in line between Sal and Militant. "Sounds to me like your piece of shit, and if you think your such hot shit. You and me, can go. These people deserve something much better than you." His mind going to the morlocks for a moment.

* * *

Furrowing her brows, Paige inches in front of Salamander during the conversation, putting herself between him and the weaker mutant. She doesn't say anything, though her hands tighten upon her elbows, fingers digging in just a bit as if ready to rip. So far the only thing anyone knows about her powers is she can create scaley skin under it.

When her brother speaks up, she scrunches her face a bit, then says. "If yah' feeling froggy, Sammy, by all means, but ah' get winnah. Just like back home." She drawls as she gives him a flash of teeth.

* * *

Alexis looks at everything going on, and she breathes in, and out.

"Jimmy, Sam, Blister — what the heck is—"

Salamander edges a little behind Alexis, and she turns back to Militant, Jimmy, and she brings her arms up a moment.

"What's going on here? Thi is supposed to be an interview, not a death match!"

* * *

Sam Guthrie looks over and says "This jackass, thinks he is an elite ruling class of homo superior, wanting to choose which of our brothers and sisters are worthy of living. He wants to do the work for the humans, hell I wonder if he might be secretly registered and working for the man. He admits he was a lap dog for them in the army." Sam is ready to kick in his forcefield if need be any second as he knows he is talking some heap big dookie. To Paige he will say "You aint been able to beat me in the past girl, this joker aint weakening me enough so ya can."

* * *

"Well, excuuuuse me foah' holding back all those years and lettin' yah' win so you could look tough in front of yah' friends." Paige says to Sam with a soft laugh, then gives a look back to the others. "Ah' dunno, this doesn't seem really serious ta' me. We came here lookin' ta join ah cause and instead it seems like a lotta chest puffery and threats."

* * *

Chest puffery, baffoonery, and the firestarter looks mildly peeved as she looks back and forth at the group, takes a deeeeeeeeeeep breath, and closes her eyes.

"… Miller caused the black eye. He knows you guys are friends with Miss Jackson. And for the record, Jimmy wants to blow up the free clinic. I was hoping he'd start something and then we'd all be able to just finish it." she states, and she brushes at her cheek.

"You should have kept your goddamn hands to yourself, MIller."

* * *

Sam Guthrie will step close enough to throw a punch at Miller. Yea he is a bit of a sucker for the girl at times. "You want to hurt those who are trying to help the people around here? " The punch is something like the one he hit smoker with trying for a rabbit punch to the nose.

* * *

"Well, shit, ah' guess we're gonna have ta' knock a few suckers out." There's a tear of the skin as Paige rips her arms free, then tugs down her face as she shreds herself. There is now a solid gleaming titanium colored Paige as the light shines off her body. At her feet, her skin sits in a pile. One of her arms is a long spike, much like from Terminator 2. "Ah' right assholes. Ya'll get one warning ta' stand down, or you're gonna get a beating courtesy of th' X-Men."

* * *

Miller doesn't even flinch. There's a blow on his face, the rabbit punch striking, but where as it should go 'crunch', it sort of goes…. 'thud'. Like hitting a brick wrapped in foam.

Miller's head snaps back, though, and he doesn't seem worse for wear.

—- then Paige rips her skin, and there's this horrifying yelp that might have been from Tommy Smoker as he draws back, and Salamander edges away before Miller calls out:

"… the /X-Men/? You numbskulls tried to recruit /X-Men/ into Spare Change?!" in a growl, and then he just… laughs.

"All right, stand down then. You're not joining the gang, and we're not about to take you on. I'm violent, but not stupid. Get yourselves outta my abode — an' no one stop 'em."

* * *

Sam Guthrie looks over and around the room and says "How many of you want to stay with this guy who is going to get people coming after you or how many of you want to him to leave?" He will ask them.

* * *

"You think it's gonna end just like that? Now that we know what you're really about. Murderer. Thug." Paige says as she glowers bullets into Miller's eyes. "We gotta be bettah than this. All of us. Th' world won't always be like this for us, but if we keep giving th' humans /reason/ ta' attack us, then they will. Mutants should be working ta'gether and trying ta' find peaceful resolutions, not killing each other off, and definitely not trying ta' kill th' humans. Registration came outta fear. Sentinels came outta fear. What's next? Ya'll don't wanna know that, cuz we already do. We've seen it."

"So, ah'm asking all of yah to drop it. Stop all of this malarky. If you need help, we /can/ help you. We can help you find shelters, jobs, food, friends. But if ya'll go down this road, all that will lead to is death, and then they'll hit th' rest of us even harder." She lets out a heavy breath. "That goes for you too." She says to Miller. "Guy like you who is strong should be on our side, helping us show mutants in a good light."

* * *

The other mutants jut sort of… quietly slink off to other areas. They know they're not X-Men Quality mutants. Physical mutations, some minor powers — except Miller and Alexis, anyway. Alexis is still between Miller and Salamander, standing behind Paige as she balls her fists.

"… you two should go." she states quietly. "… they won't leave him. We've got nowhere else to go except Prison." she states in a quiet, but firm voice.

* * *

Sam Guthrie says, "We can find you places to go, if your not wanting to go to shelters, or to other places that might help, can get you in with another group of mutants who feel they have no other place to go. There is a group that live in tunnels under the city, and they watch out for one another. They will take you in, if you don't want to go to other places. Not gonna let this guy beat on the others here and kill people. It aint gonna happen.""

Alexis Carr

* * *

Alexis Carr is a short young woman. She has a dark complexion, her full hair has an undercut, and spills to the side in dark waves and loose curls to her waist when not braided and coiled. She has a long, thin nose, and a heart-shaped face. She wears heavier eyeliner about her eyes, giving her a punk look, and tends to favo reds and violets for eyeshadow. Her lips are often pursed in thought.

She wears a dark colored sweatshirt, and fingerless gloves to keep her palms warm. Jeans ripped at the pockets are stitched over with rainbows of embroidery thread in the shapes of flowers and skulls.

She's trim, and looks like she works out pretty often.

=======================================New York City - Boroughs - Brooklyn==

* * *

Beyond the neo-Gothic towers of Brooklyn Bridge, the borough of Brooklyn
stretches out in a far more tepid relief against the clamour of Manhattan.

Downtown Brooklyn looks much like her sister across the East River, though
her rising skyscrapers are made of modern concrete and glass: recent and
ongoing commercial projects and high-rise condominiums. The downtown core is
a bedlam rush during commute, but otherwise is a far more bearable sort of
busy compared to Manhattan — composed primarily of residents than visiting
tourists.

Free of the recent destruction to hit New York, Brooklyn has sustained its
moderate growth: its residential brownstones are busy with families and its
streets lined with back-to-back parked cars. Its boutique shops, corner
groceries, and family-owned restaurants are plentiful, providing all types
of goods and cuisines.

Brooklyn is also famously home to Prospect Park, a considerable greenspace
that hosts its own Zoo and Botanical Garden; whether within its flowering
trees in summer, or quiet snowfall in winter, it offers a brief window away
from city life.

The mutants around the Guthries are talking amongst themselves, looking to one another, and to Militant, and Militant stands firm, his arms crossed. Salamander stands behind Alexis, who is behind Paige and Sam, to the middle of the siblings, and all stand before Jimmy Miller, the Militant, who was apparently inflexible and completely massive enough to stop Sam's punch almost in its tracks.

His arms are crossed, and then, among the din, Salamander speaks first:

"… I'd like to leave Spare Change of my own accord." he volunteers, raising a scaley, peeling hand. "If Sam says there's other groups who can help—"

"THERE ARE NO OTHERS." Militant snarls, "WE will be the new reformation! The reckoning! We've spent all that time, all the money we've claimed from outsiders, from those hwo will benefit to built up our arms and—"

"And kill other mutants! That wasn't in the plan, Jimmy! That wasn't the agreement!" Alexis calls out, and steps up, looking around the group. "None of you were here when he shot Andy Pruitt. None of you were here when he held that gun to my head and said to me 'If you do not join me, you will join him'." Alexis states, holding her hand out "I was sixteen, and homeless, and had nothing else. What else could I do? But we have a choice now. Follow Militant, and start hurting other mutants — the very people we want to protect — or not. And these two—" she point to Sam and Paige "Are strong enough to take him on. And you know what?"

She turns, her fingers beginning to glow with heat.

"I'll be with them."

* * *

Sam Guthrie looks to the group and says "There are others groups. And we will help you find them. Ah believe in human and mutant living together finding peace together. There are groups who just want to be left alone, and yes there are groups who believe mutants are better than human, but even they do not believe in killing their own. What happens when militant finds someone more powerful you. He looks over to Phil, and Smoker. "He would kill either of you to get me and my sister on his side, and you know it.

* * *

"Unfortunately for Jimmy here, he's outclassed 'ere. Either way, it's best he gets th' hell outta here, and hopefully right outta New York, or else we're 'bout to cause our own reckoning. Ah've been itching fo' ah' fight." The titanium woman says with the long spiked arm that is as sharp as a katana. "Mutants killing mutants is stupid. Mutants killing humans is stupid. We will /never/ be at peace if we are constantly fighting and causing nonsense. The X-Men are trying ta' work with the government ta' make all of this go away, so that we can live normal lives. But it won't change over night. But until then? We gotta do our best. We can help you guys. The Morlocks are our allies. Th' X-Men has safehouses. Ya'll don't need to resort to madness." She turns her eyes upon the Militant. "What will it be? Yah' walking, or do we gotta punch yah' number and turn ya' over to the feds?"

* * *

"Do you really think you two kids can overtake me?" The Militant states, looming, before suddenly there's movement.

Phil comes up. He stands behind the Guthries. "I always wondered what happened to Pruitt. Never did like how you treated us. Knowing we're disposable without being part of the greater plan?" he states, and he focuses.

The Guthries might just feel more energized. Any wounds they've gotten in the last few hours fade off.

Smoker looks around, and then jumps off his seat, and comes and joins the side of the gathering Mutants. So comes a lady with black eyes like obsidian. A man with teeth that look like an angler fish.

And soon all that are left are a few other mutants with HOMO SUPERIOR tattoos on their arms, not enough to really matter.

And Jimmy looks less than pleased.

"So you're all just going to cowtow to a couple of kids? And you, my little firebird, after all I've done for you? Andy didn't see your potential. He let you play the part, but never /pushed/ you. I. Made you. What you are." he stares down, and sneers, then turns and tilts hi head.

"Any of you that are loyal to me, c'mon. It's obvious we're not welcome in our own home."

* * *

Sam Guthrie looks to the other man, and says "You can try to insult us all you want, this is not your home, this is there, and if you come back, Ah will make sure you regret it for a very very long time. Anyone who wants to go with you can and we won't stop them, but Ah will feel sorry for them, and hope they realize the toxicity of your views.

* * *

"Not even on your best day you could even take one of us." Paige snaps back at him as she yanks the arm of her blade hand free to reveal what appears to be a metal tube. Turning, she blasts the weapons with a blaze of thick acid, melting them down to slag with a raunchy stench in the air of heated elta. "Now you git outta our city. /Now/."

* * *

"You're right…." Jimmy states, looking at the group, nad he holds up his hands as Paige destroys the metal, the acrid smell of acid in the air, burning the nostrils. "No way I could take a couple of kids like you on." and he motion, and his few remaining groupies turn, and all walk out.

And once their gone… the others have a chance to relax.

"Does.. does this mean we can just go back to being pickpockets? No more needing to work with guns?" one of the younger guys asks as they look around.

Phil rubs the back of his head, and he turns to Alexis.

"You, me, and Sal are the only original ones remaining… but you never wanted to join in the theiving part, Lex. Why don't you ee if these two can get you someplace better? You're still young. Could go back to school. And you know, if these guys are actually with the X-Men? Pretty sure you can get your parents re-imported. If you wanted." he states gently.

"Yeah!" Salamander hisses, his webbed feet tippy-tapping on the floor. "Go and be better than us, we can take care of things here!" he says.

.. and then, perhaps as a response to the melting metal and mess that was a lot of weaponry and armoring… the sprinklers come on.

.. but it's not water. It smells suspiciously like a gas station.

* * *

Sam Guthrie frowns and at the gas, he will call out "Everyone take one another's hand. He reaches for Paige and Alexis's hand. Sam plans on pressing his power a bit, but he thinks he can drag them all out via his blast field. It maybe pushing it but he only needs to get everyone outside the building.

* * *

"This place is gonna blow!" Paige hollers out as she shreds her skin once more, tearing it apart to reveal a lighter, bouncier version of her. She reaches out to snag Sam by the hand, then wraps her other arm around Alexis who is smaller to hike her over her shoulder. "Everyone hang on, we're gonna hit mach five!"

* * *

"EXCUSE ME?!" Alexis is first grabbed by Sam, and then grabbed and shoulder-hupped by Paige, and she flails about slightly before she uses both hands to grab onto Salamander, who comes up close with a "I am so sorry about this!" to Page's backside, closing his eyes.

Phil grabs onto Sam, and then grabs onto Smoker, who grabs onto another mutant. The group grabs on, looking a little bewildered and a lot scared.

* * *

Sam Guthrie 's blastfield will engage it spreads out coating each and everyone of them, and they will take off the ground, and blast through the nearest wall. The flight is not as steady as Sam normally is, and they will crash into another building nearby but the field protects everyone as the tumble along the floor a bit as the field gives out.

* * *

"Yahoo!" Paige crows out as she clings to Alexis, while using her other hand to cling to Sam's. As they go blasting out of the wall, leaving the smoking building behind, she glances over Sam's shoulder back towards the building.

* * *

The woman with the obsidian eyes screams, and nearly lets go — but Phil grasps her tightly.

"NO ONE LOOK BACK!" he barks out, trying to be heard over the sound of the blast field.

Alexis holds onto Salamander with both hands, her eyes closing as she screams out in fear, her legs wrapping against Paige.

As they go, the building explodes, the gas fumes igniting, and the shockwave even causes another derelict building to collapse.

Jimmy and his cronies are nowhere to be found.

* * *

Sam Guthrie he leans against some debries, and sighs a bit "I so should have knocked his ass out." He stretches a bit, and groans, it seems this took a bit out of him more than you would expect.

* * *

Once they land, Paige lets go of Alexis, then sheds her skin to reveal her normal blonde hair and blue eyed self. She's also rocking her X-Man uniform now in black and golds with the symbolic belt about her waist. She cracks her neck to one side and gives a look to the group of mutants. "Welp.. this has been a night." She gives a long stretch of her body.

* * *

Alexis flops to the ground, and between looking up and around at everyone else, she retreats a few steps in a crab-walk, gets up, and promptly evacuates everything in her stomach behind the coer of a trash can.

Phil make a face.

"Right. Scared of flying. Forgot about that." he states dryly, then turns to Paige, who's already in her X-Men uniform, and then to Sam.

"So. you can put us in touch with the Morlocks? I've heard rumours. SUppose for most of us, that's going to be the safest place to get." he states, looking between the two. "Think you've got room in your fancy super-mutant club?" he asks genially.

* * *

Sam Guthrie says, "I will talk to some folks and but I think we can work something out for a few of you and yea we can get you hooked up with the murlocks for those who want to go there. I think we can possibly get you a hotel room or three for a night or three while we see what we can get set up."

"Yeah, we can do that for you guys. Far as membership goes? That's not up to us, but we can put in a good word." Paige says to Phil with a grin as she plucks up her pile of skin on the ground and wads it up, stuffing it into a trash can so that it may dissolve. "Though anything you can tell us about that Miller guy later will be very useful. Boss will want to know all about him, what he can do, all that jazz."

"Not for us." Phil states, holding up his arms and his hands to stop that line of thought. "I'm happy enough just not being involved anymore. I'm getting too old for this rebellion stuff. I'm going to head back home, back upstate. Reacquaint myself with my brother Dan and maybe get on the straight and narrow." he states, and he exhales.

"I mean, for Alexis. She's… when she's full power, she's strong. Jim kept her on a short leash and half-starved afer he killed Andy, who just treated her like a brother. Jimmy treated her like an object. She's gonna need more help than the rest of us." he explains.

Sam Guthrie says, "Well least let us get you in the hotel for the night or two, don't have a lot of money but want to get you each on an ok start. We can probably help ya with a bus ticket to get you upstate."

"Ah' can even pay. Teacher salary and all." Paige says as she picks off one last piece of skin dangling from her wrist. With a wiggle of her fingers, she lets it drop to the ground. "For now though? Let's get a move on."

"… I haven't slept in a real bed in twenty-five years." Salamander states quiet-like, picking another bit of skin off Paige, respectfully, and begins to waddle on his webbed feet. "It'll be nice. Sheets! They have sheets still, right?" he questions, appearing to be very excited over the prospect of an actual bed, even if it's for the night. Some of the other Spare Changers shake hands, and begin to disperse. A couple of the older ones stick around, and Tommy the Smoker taps his jacket.

"Aww hell. My smokes were in my hammock." he glumly mutters, before siding up to Paige, and giving a smile. He sweeps his hair back.

"So, Southern Belle, ah… don't suppose I could get your digits and take you out for a slice? You know, now that we're on the same side?" he asks.

Phil looks around, and looks over to Sam, giving a slight smile. "I misjudged you, Sam. And I've never been so happy to be wrong." he states, and offers a hand to shake.

Sam Guthrie looks over to smoker shaking his head but he lets Paige handle this. "Well thanks, Ah do try to help people when ah can. He will lead the group to his jeep to let them climb on to get the group to one of the hole in the wall hotels nearby.

"Ha, nice try slick. Ah' got a boyfriend that ah've been seeing for a few weeks now. But if it doesn't work out, ah'll give yah a holler." Paige says as she takes her phone out of her pocket, then goes about finding a cheap hotel to land ya'll in for a few nights. Hope you guys are okay in being bunk buddies."

Tommy gives a shrug, and with a flick of his hand produces a business card. Thomas Thomas, Magician. Birthday Parties, Mitzvahs, All Manner of Happy Occasions.

And he graciously tips an imaginary hat, and backs off from the Guthries. "I'm going to head about and try to see if I can get room in a shelter. Maybe work my way through the mindset. Catch you cats later." he says, and turns, hopping out into the night.

So, all in all, Sam and Paige will have to house Salamander, who is still giddy about the luxuries of modern society, and a few others. Two or three.

But Alexis is nowhere to be found.

Sam Guthrie blinks a bit and looks around "Hey where is Alexis?" He asks as they are piling into the jeep "Did we loose her?" He frowns not liking this. Knowing the other guy would have wanted to get his hands on her.
