The media has been in a frenzy all day since the incident. There has been multiple coverages of the explosion inside No More Records, with video of Deadpool swinging into the store with all his weapons and getting into a confrontation with her security guard. A grenade was thrown, a werewolf leaped upon it, and the explosion rattled the entire block. There was one fatality outside due to gunshot to the head as the would be anti-hero made his escape.

It's been roughly ten hours now and Andrea has been out of surgery for an hour, resting in a highly secured room with a police presence. James suffered his own injuries and has been recuperating as well in his own room. As she lays beneath the sheets with multiple IV's in her arms to pump her full of medication and drugs to keep her numb, her mind floats in and out of consciousness. Her face has considerable injury to it, with half her face wrapped in gauze, and her sides has been stitched together. She will have quite the scars, lucky to have kept her internal organs, and just as lucky to have a healing factor that barely struggled to keep her together.

Light music is played in the room from a radio that a nurse set up, with multiple bouquets of flowers from guests and fans that sent them to the desk. She even has a teddy bear tucked in beneath one arm of pure white with black eyes.

When the news came in to Jay by some of Andrea's people, Jay was out the window and on the way to the hospital. Thoughts of laws and registration were gone. All that mattered was getting to her while he fought the terror of losing his love. Thus, caution was thrown to the wind (literally) as he winged rapidly that direction.

Thankfully, his brother intercepted him on the way there and stopped him. A quick trip back to the apartment, image inducer and baggy clothes in place, then Sam took him to the hospital faster than he would've made it himself. He didn't lose time really, even with the diverting back to cover tracks. At least Sam kept a cool head in a crisis. Jay? He was a basket case.

He wasn't able to see her and arrived while she was in surgery. He paced. He sat and fidgeted. He was crying openly and had been the entire time. When the surgeon came out with the news she came through the surgery but things would still be touch and go for a few days, he was relieved and terrified at the same time.

Since her arrival in the room, he had been at her side. His hand holding hers, eyes red from the tears, talking softly to her and even singing to her from time to time.

The throat of Andrea is raspy and wet as she breathes, her body giving a sporadic twitch now and again as if she was being jolted by a cattle prod. Nightmares. Pain. A snarling, unhappy dual personality in the back of her head, clawing to get out, but sluggish due to the medication. A few more hours pass, well beyond midnight, but the popstar finally stirs as her hand clenches around Jay's tightly. Her dark eyes flutter open, her voice croaking out. "Ssss. Waa-ter."

It's dark outside, it's dark in the room, but she knows it's him at her side. Even in her drugged up state, she could recognize his voice, singing into her dreams, assuring that she would be safe. "Jaaaames.. okaaay?" She grunts the words out of her throat, concerned. Since the explosion, she's been out, and the grenade leaving Deadpool's hand was the last thing she saw.

"M'ah dead?" She finally asks as her head slowly tilts to the side to stare at him in the dark, even if the room is spinning slowly upside down and all about in a hazy three-sixty.

* * *

"Andrea?!" Surprised to hear her voice. Thrilled even if it is so weak and scratchy due to her circumstance. He squeezed her hand even as he pushed the button to call for the nurse. He knew she couldn't have anything by mouth, not with her stomach as it was, but they might be able to get something to help with her thirst. Ice chips. Even those swabs that helped with dry mouth. Something.

"James is okay. You saved him. He was hurt but not nearly as bad as you," Jay explains, knowing she'll want to hear it. "He's a few doors down. When he can, I'm sure he'll be here to check in on you. Likely before they tell him he is allowed to get out of bed if I know him."

At the final question, he gives a soft smile. "You're not dead. Pretty sure heaven is a lot nicer than this room and you would see something prettier than my ugly mug."

* * *

There is a low, pained huff from Andrea, amused. "Liar." She rasps out to him. "You are the most beautiful face I could ever open my eyes to. You are my angel." Her body shifts to try and get more comfortable, wincing. ".. I jumped on a grenade." She says as she gets the words out of her throat, lifting the hand up that is not plugged in with cables to her face to rub at her eyes.

"Don't ever do that. It hurts. A lot." She leans her cheek into her pillow, looking at him through the dark as her wolfen eyes sharpen a bit to ensure she can really see him. "Soon as I can, I'll shift so I can heal faster." She murmurs to him.

* * *

"Well, let the nurses get in here before you do doing anything. They worked hard to stitch you up and would hate for you to tear it all back out," Jay explained as he waited for the on-duty nurse to come in. It shouldn't be long.

"I will take your advice though. No jumping on grenades. I suspect it might hurt less for me though. Since I'd not survive the experience. Then just wake up later." Such a weird power to have honestly. "Next time, you don't need to be jumping on one either. Kick it back at the guy, out a window, something. You scared me." The last three words are a whisper, spoken with all the pent up emotion that he might've lost her.

* * *

"I scared me too. Never saw a grenade up close before." Andrea says as she gives a few squints of her eyes. At least she is starting to come around. Slowly. She wheezes out another rattled breath, followed by a pained cough into her hand.

The nurse comes in with a concerned look upon her face, then offers up a brief smile to the pair of lovers as she goes about jotting down some notes and readouts from the calibration machines that are hooked up to her. "Hello Miss Jackson. Mister .. " She trails off, having not caught his name. "I see our popstar is awake. Congratulations." She pours some water for her in a dixie cup and hands it over. She can drink water at least.

"Looks like your signs are good. You're a quick healer." She says, though there obviously is a bit of wariness in her voice. Mutants, after all. At least this one, and she can turn into a monster. "Still going to be here for awhile unfortunately."

Andrea glances to Jay as she takes the cup, sipping from it with small, tiny brushes of her mouth along the rim. "Gonna be okay?"

* * *

"Guthrie," Jay answers the nurse, when she fishes for his last name. Then Andrea asks her question.

"Are you asking if I'm going to be okay? Or you?" Jay asks with a soft laugh, considering how silly it would be for her to be asking about him when she's the one in the hospital. "The doctor said it would be touch and go but I think you being conscious and this lucid probably is a good sign."

That gets a nod from the nurse as she continues to take down information, sending off a message to the doctor that the patient was awake and the details of her condition. He likely would be in as soon as he could too.

* * *

Sam Guthrie walks into the room, coffee, burgers and such. He has been talking to Ma, and the little ones who were still awake. His brow raises and says "Oh miss pin cushin is awake?" He offers her a smile letting her know he is joke. He did try getting ahold of the murlock healer but no luck yet. "Hey you.."

* * *

"You, silly." Andrea says with a groan. "Least you get the bed all to yourself. Can spread yourself out like a snow angel." As the nurse heads off to talk to the rest of the staff, she flashes a weak smile to Sam. "Hey. Thanks for coming."

As she slowly pushes herself into a sitting position, she lifts the front of her shirt up to stare at her heavily red skin with a few dozen stitches traveling up and down along her sides. She's swollen. It's terrible looking. Not for the faint of heart.

She takes in a deep breath, then lets it out slowly before she drops it down. She bites on her bottom lip and then glances away from the two of them as she sucks in a quivering sigh.

* * *

"Hey, Sam." Jay greets his brother as he arrives but doesn't move from his spot by Andrea's side. When she pulls up the shirt to see the stitches, he gently reaches out to pull it back down. "Looking at it won't change anything. Just give it time. When it reaches a point you can, you can shift to heal more quickly."

He does snort softly as he adds. "Having the bed all to myself is not all it is cracked up to be."

* * *

Sam Guthrie walks over and sets stuff down beside hisbrother. He looks over to andrea and moves to give her other hand a soft squeze so all the insides inside?

* * *

"I dunno.. ask Doc." Andrea says as her shirt is tugged down by Jay. She starts to relate herself to Frankenstein. She still has no clue what the side of her face may look like beneath the bandages. Maybe she will be Queen Two-Face.

As she squeezes Sam's hand back, she drops her head back down into the pillow with a light thump. Wince. Ow. "Alexis is staying with us a few days, so at least you won't be lonely." She tells Jay with a weak smile. ".. Surprise? Unless Sam told you."

"They ever find the guy who did this? That Deadpool guy? Looked like Spiderman, just crazy and talks to himself. He wanted my autograph."

* * *

"I don't think they've found him yet," Jay responds. "They have video of it all over the news. I'm sure they'll get a lead for the authorities to follow up on." Deadpool wasn't a name Jay knew. It was a strange sort of name though.

* * *

Sam Guthrie sighs a bit and says "He is a bit of a nutball, obviously but catching him and having him stay caught is not an easy thing. Ah honestly believe one of the times he regenerated something must have stayed inside his head, cause he aint right."

* * *

"I just know him from the news. Daily Bugle compared him to Spider-Man a few times since they have the same costumes. Tried to say he attempted to kill the President or something." Andrea wheezes out again as she rubs a hand along her face.

"I'm sorry for scaring you guys. Feel like this is my fault." She gives a few tugs of the sheets higher upon her body. "The last few days has been pretty weird. Maybe I should just move to California." She gives a lopsided grin to Jay. "You wanna live in California?"

* * *

"No, I have to say that California sounds horribly frightening," Jay admits. Not a place he has ever aspired to live. He reaches out a hand to touch Andrea's.

"This is not your fault. It's the fault of a crazy guy who thought killing you was how to show he was a fan. Even thought you might give him an autograph after hurting you." He shook his head.

* * *

Sam Guthrie looks to them, and says "I sm not sure what to say but was not your fault, thats like saying you get mugged for having money, or one of your charity kids gets beat up and it is their fault.

* * *

"Just saying I'm a pretty visible target now these days for nut jobs. Whether it's terrorist mutant groups or weirdos in red spandex." Andrea crinkles her nose as she winds her hand with Jay's.

Tilting her head, she notices the poster and sharpie on the table, then painfully reaches for it as she shuffles over to the side. She actually picks the marker up and signs her name on it with a practiced motion as she sucks it up through the pain. "He left a card to call. Can find him that way maybe."

* * *

"You've got to be kidding me," Jay muttered as she put forth the effort to sign the poster. "The cops have the card, I'm sure. To try to find him that way. If they fail, I don't want this guy to have that thing with your signature on it."

He glanced over at Sam. "You've heard of him? You mentioned regeneration?"

* * *

Sam Guthrie nods, and says "Yea, Ah have encountered him in the past, he is a mercenary. If he does show up again, offering to pay him to make sure none get hurt might work." He looks to Jay and says "He has a lot in common with Logan in some ways."

* * *

After signing the poster, Andrea puts it back on the desk, then gives Jay an amused look for a moment. She shuffles in to lean forward to kiss him on the cheek. "He said he's my biggest fan. Can't disappoint him." She's trying to make light of a bad situation.

"You look tired though. Why don't you guys go home and get some sleep and I'll just.. let the meds drag me under. I definitely feel like I was hit with a grenade."

* * *

"I'm not leaving here. Not for a few days at least," Jay says as he squeezes her hand. "I already checked out that chair in the corner. It's quite comfy for sleeping. Although I suppose I could get a cot brought in. Set it up next to your bed."

* * *

Sam Guthrie says, "I'll get you a cot here, and then go check on Alexis. will try to see if I can get her to come see you tommorrow, think she will want to."
