Sam Guthrie is working at the bar tonight. Since coming back to the area Sam has picked up a job as back up tender at Harry's. The place itself is an old establishment, with the main room with a bar, and tables where you can sit. There is a back room with a pool table and dart board and such.

* * *

Heading into the bar is Andrea, who most likely will draw immediate attention for those who may recognize her. She is a world wide global icon, mutant celebrity, loved and hated by the masses. She also was blown up by a grenade a few days ago by DeadPool which was caught on camera and circulated around the Internet. She dived on the grenade, saved people's lives, all in a day's work. Right? Sure.

As she limps inside, one half of her head has been shaved where a line of stitches can be seen, and there is visible swelling along her face, bruising. But, despite it, she immediately smiles at the sight of Jay and his band playing. She's dressed in tight jeans, a haltertop and a heavy coat over her body to keep herself warm and has enough makeup to hide some of the wounds. As she takes a seat, she focuses on the music, just watching, happy.

* * *

As Andrea came in she might have seen two people jogging. That's a little odd in January but not like, super odd, especially with some of the residual good weather for January brought to us courtesy of ROXXON! But we digress. Hisako Ichiki comes up to the door, coming in with a bursting thrust against the door itself — to open it dramatically, mind you, not demolish it — and then holds it open for the person coming up behind her.

"This is bad for my macros but I *really want some fries*," Hisako says, before looking over her shoulder. Sympathy crosses her face at the sight of Andrea's profile, which then turns into slow realization of who that is. "This is super awkward. Should we say hi or let her… be? If she's recovering…?"

* * *

Entering with Hisako is jogger #2, aka Laura. While people might generally question the winter jog as a case of overdoing it (especially dressed for much warmer weather, in your typical yoga pants and sports bra ensemble, hair tied up), but… Overdoing it with training of every sort is kiiiiind of Laura's thing. Once a trained from birth humanoid weapon and killing machine, always a yadda yadda. Indeed, sometimes it seems like she never emerges from the Danger Room. But today? Today she has joined the bright light of day and the rest of mutantkind aboveground… to go running with Hisako. Baby steps. It kiiiind of counts as socializing!

"We can stop," she agrees as they reach the door. "I like this place." Which might seem odd. "Logan comes here a lot." And there it is. So she actually seems comfortable stepping into the place. As for any awkwardness regarding Andrea: "Why? If she wished for privacy, I do not think she would have come here. Let's get fries."

* * *

Sam Guthrie looks over and says "Hey come have a seat, and don't press it to much. He will move to set Andrea a soda down in front of one of the stools expecting her to sit there it seems. He looks over to the girls and nods in greeting to them. Sam has been back around the school and area for about a month now.

* * *

"I'm fine." Andrea says to Sam with an amused noise in her throat. "James is parking the car and he will join us in a bit." As she unzips her jacket and shrugs out of it slowly, she winces now and again. Her arms are bruised and with the lift of her shirt with the process would show a deep black bruising and a long line of stitches along her ribcage.

She requests a water from the waitress as well as a basket of cheese fries, then props her chin up as she watches Jay play with his band. She hums along with the song, knowing the lyrics by heart, and every beat and tone of the instruments. She taps her foot along in time, sighing softly with a love sick grin. She sells out stadiums, has a grammy and multiple platinums, and yet, when Jay plays, she is captivated by his voice. Puppy love.

* * *

"What am I supposed to like, say??" Hisako asks Laura. "That's a rhetorical question," she adds a moment later, but when she sees Sam she is relieved, it seems. She beams at him, approaching the bar. (Hisako had been out west with the various people who were relocated there to avoid getting waxed by Sentinels! Now, obviously, she is not out west.)

"Mr. Guthrie," she says, before making a tiny little pound of her fist on the bar. "I want a big old plate of disco fries. And water." Her head tilts towards Andrea and she mouths to Sam 'In Tro Duce Me'

* * *

The clarification Hisako tacks on is well timed, as Laura was just opening her mouth, presumably to offer some actual advice. Needless to say, her approaches to delicate social moments can only end in comedy or tragedy. Or a bit of both. Instead, she just slips past the other young woman to stand near her at the bar, and after she orders, goes with the rather uncreative approach, mimicking her firend: "I would like the same thing." In a minor miracle, she does NOT copy the accompanying hand gesture. But she does look back toward Andrea, seeing how she continues to hover at the center of everyone's attention.

The upside to her lack of social graces: she doesn't get hung up on details like introductions. "Hello. It looks as though you are recovering well, given the severity of your injuries." Whether the popstar bit means anything to her or not, she /absolutely/ follows the news, particularly those sorts of incidents. This time, she's not even to blame!

* * *

Sam Guthrie smiles a bit and will put in the orders. He will smile and after Laura speaks he will grin a bit more. "Andrea, this is Hisako, and Laura, they both attend the school Jay and I went to." He offers as introduction to the group of ladies. "You might have a better chance keeping her attention while Jay is not singing." He jokes a bit to them.

* * *

As Sam calls out to her, Andrea tilts her head over towards the pair of ladies that he introduces. She offers them both a winning smile, brows lifting upwards. "/Oh/. You are both from Xavier's?" She says as she motions to the table for them to join her. "Thank you. I am recovering, yes. It has been a painful month for me for some reason. I'm not sure why I'm attracting lunatics in red costumes."

As her fries arrives, she dips one into the cheese and swirls it about. "Hisako and Laura, want to join me? I come here to watch Jay." She says as she motions to the red haired singer. It's public knowledge those two have been a couple for a few years, though they don't know he's a mutant. Red wings would make a stir in TMZ. "I've been meaning to come by the school to talk to students for maybe a career day."

* * *

"HI," Hisako says to Andrea, beaming like a massive lamp. She leans against the bar. "Oh. Wow, that's horrible. I am so sorry. You said it was someone in a red costume?" (Her eyes flick towards Laura, who may know more.) "And that does sound completely awesome, but don't put yourself in any danger here, alright? Wow! Okay, so you're here to see Jay over there…?" Her head tilts back for a moment and then she leans over to ask Sam, ("has she been coming here for weeks and we never knew.")

* * *

"Yes, we both go to the school," Laura answers Andrea, although on the remaining offer she seems to wait. Indeed, her first reaction to the invitation is to look over at Hisako to guage her own reaction. It seems unlikely she would abandon her friend if she wanted to do something else, treating a simple social outing with the serious committment as an actual mission: no woman left behind! Any and all dating buzz is a topic that goes right over her head, though, perhaps for the best. "I would be happy to rest a little and eat. Afterwards, maybe pool? Last time I won a lot of money." Another bad habbit she's picked up from Logan? Or just the inevitable result of letting her loose on the general population.

"You have no idea of the cause or reasoning behind the attack?" Apparently, she's decided a violent and possibly traumatic incident is a great topic of casual conversation, and does seem very curious. Hisako's silent inquiry, along the way, is met with a small shake of her head.

* * *

Sam Guthrie will look to the girls and says "Not as often since Jay moved into the city." He will look over, and says "I can go on break and sit with you for a while." He tells Harry that he is going to take a break, and takes the soda he had for Andrea she seemed not to want and join them. To the new girls he will simply say "Deadpool." in explanation of the man in red.

* * *

"Oh, his name is Deadpool. I've seen him on the news. I was doing an autograph session and he swinged into the store with all these guns and swords. My bodyguard stood up in front of him and pulled his service weapon because .. well… you know. Deadpool said he wanted an autographed, accused my bodyguard of 'jumping the line' and threw a grenade at him. I used my powers to dive on it and take the blast right in my stomach." Andrea says as she takes another fry, popping it into her mouth as she watches Jay here and there amidst the conversation. She gives some light applause when their eyes meet and the song ends.

"He is just a nut job. That's all. He then left a picture and a sharpie next to my body and that's the last thing I remember before I woke up in the hospital. I am a decent healer, but .. not like that. I never took something like that before. I've been shot at, stabbed once at a concert .. hit by a car.." She trails off. ".. you know.. because not everyone is cool with mutant popstars." She furrows her brows, then shrugs. "But! One day, it won't be like this." She says assuringly, as if to convince herself.

* * *

Hisako Ichiki considers this issue with an expression of great gravity, asiding to Laura, "Pool sounds great, but it seems like now we have to deal with a different kind. Of pool." A beat passes. "I'm not supposed to quip."

"I think the term for this is 'a bias crime,'" Hisako then says, "so, uh, good to know, thanks." Her voice lowers as Sam gets closer. "Does he have powers or anything or is this some Joker, Harley Quinn kind of thing?"

* * *

"I am familiar with his file," Laura quietly confirms, as they get into a few more details while finding a seat. In fact, it might be one that she has a greater than casual interest in, given certain… shared heritage, of a sort. "But I agree," with the 'nut job' evaluation, as Andrea gives it. "It sounds as if his mental condition is seriously deteriorated. A dangerous situation, and one that could spill over to us whether we have any involvement or not. It would probably be prudent for him to be captured and isolated, to see if any treatment was possible." Evidently she doesn't extend the ideals of mutant freedom to total random psychos.

"If it is the same individual," since a black and red mask and suit does sort of make it circumstantial, even with the name, "Then he is… somewhat related to the project that created me and my father. Likely similar powers. Perhaps this is why he considered otherwise lethal force acceptable in such trivial circumstances."

* * *

Sam Guthrie looks over and says "Yea seems to have a major disconnect from reality." He drinks a bit of his soda, and says "So what brings you two out and about Ah take it was not just to hear Jay sing.

* * *

As she listens to them talk, Andrea tilts her head to one side and furrows her brows. She opens her mouth, then closes it slowly before giving Sam a confused glance. "Er — well.. you guys … do you.. I guess." She trails off with a soft laugh.

When a new song starts up, she straightens up and gives another big, happy grin. She likes this song. One of her favorites.

* * *

"Well if you see him again, tell him to talk to me," Hisako says, grimly.

She is silent for several seconds after this.

To Laura, she asks, "Does he have—?" Referring to Deadpool, presumably; she raises her hand to make what looks like a standard fist salute if you don't know a certain somebody.

* * *

"Not according to the information we have," Laura answers, interpreting Hisako's gesture readily enough. "The project has had a number of iterations, dating back decades if not more, with the same general goal of creating enhanced soliders, whether from scratch or using existing genetic material and building on top of it. But it's taken a number of different approaches. I believe that particular enhancement was limited to ours, perhaps given the material requirements, which may have impacted my design as well." What, they don't have enough adamantium for everyone?

She turns a curious look toward Andrea at her reaction, but seeingly her 'covert' instincts do not suggest that any of this is particularly secret, if she's comfortable discussing mutant issues and dating another of the crowd. "You may wish to speak with the school administration, to see if they'd be willing to… assist with him."

* * *

Sam Guthrie looks to the girls and says to Andrea "The school has quite a lot of people. We have people from most all backgrounds at the school. Sometimes Ah think we should have come to find you and see about getting you into the school back in the day. You did ok though Ah think, and not sure if the school would have been ready for such a public celebrity. Keeping the school to only those who needed it help.

* * *

"Well, the authorities has been alerted, as well as the FBI. They're treating it like a domestic terrorist attack." Andrea trails off as she offers up a quick smile to them. "But, I can get you in touch with a detective if you want more information? I don't know what they have learned since the explosion."

To Sam, she offers him a grin. "I don't think Xavier's would want a registered mutant though in their ranks. I'd just be a major distraction and put a spotlight on the place through the government. I may be 'following' the rules due to my status, but I would never look to expose young mutants to politicians."

* * *

"This stuff is heavy," Hisako murmurs in reply to Laura, but she listens closely. Her nose wrinkles in consideration. "Well if he doesn't have 'that', then — hm. But he's probably a skilled fighter. I could keep him busy, but unless he gets sloppy, I couldn't close things…" She scratches her cheek, and her eyes turn back to Sam for a moment, and then she looks towards Andrea.

She smiles, but she looks guilty as she does. "Well sure!" she says, the guilt not entering her voice. "Do you want something to write on, or my number, orrrrr?"

* * *

"I do not think anyone will shun you because you comply with the local laws - it is necessary because you live a high-profile, public lifestyle," Laura tells Andrea, after whatever odd little exchange with Hisako, mysterious gestures and all. "The school has some prominent… alumni?" She's not sure how all of them classify. "Who have registered because of certain public demands. It is not possible for everyone, of course." Like say if you're still one of the most wanted fugitives in the country. Ahem.

"But you may find some assistance or guidance," she continues. "Otherwise, yes, it is good that law enforcement is dealing with this individual, although unfortunately he is likely to outclass them."

* * *

Sam Guthrie says, "And a lot of the students while going to school here are still residents of their homes, which means they don't have to register. Case by case and all that. The school was not as open when your powers manifested, Jay's class was one of the first that could be open if they wanted to."

* * *

"Well, either way, no one can be too disappointed with the results. Home schooling was probably best for me anyways, being that I was traveling a lot and always on set at Disney." Andrea looks over to Hisako and smiles. "Something to write on or your number? Are you asking for my autograph or a date?" She says with a soft laugh. "If you want an autograph I can do that." She says as she reaches for her purse to take out a sharpie. "I don't have any photos or whatever."

* * *

"Oh, god," Hisako says, then, "No," followed by, "This comes up too much," and concluding with, "I'm a mutant too so I give a crap. Laura, do you have anything to write with? Sam, uh, is there like… a notepad or something?"

"I mean if you're OK with an autograph I wouldn't mind," Hisako concludes. "I meant the detective you mentioned, though."

* * *

Laura adds something of a simple echo of agreement to Hisako, nodding along as she speaks with Andrea. "We both are. Which is why I encourage you to get in touch with the school. Even if you've concluded some other education, they have… advanced and adult classes. It may be of some use." Now she's trying to recruit people? Or, more cynically, help the school keep tabs on them. As for writing stuff? Laura, being the ninja commando that she is, is generally well prepared. Not that female jogging attire generally leaves a lot of room for carrying anything. But she does hold out her wrist, which has a little watch thing, the kind most people would use for tracking fitness information.

It may have all kinds of fancy extra SEKRIT functions. Either way, she just holds her arm there for Hisako to use!

* * *

Sam Guthrie nods a bit and will stand to get s notepad and pen for the girls relatively quick step away "Andrea knows she is welcome to come to the school when ever she wants to. She has heard plenty about it from Jay, Paige and I."

* * *

There is an embarrassed laugh. "Oh. I'm sorry. I .. thought you meant .. usually when someone asks me for a pen." Andrea digs her phone out and scrolls through her half million contacts before she finds a name. She slips a card out of her purse and scribbles the name and number upon it with her sharpie.

"I'm actually going to college at NYU. Majoring in theater and production. Should have about a year and a half left. It's really fun. Maybe when I put together my first show you guys can come see it. It's going to be my capstone project." She says as she slides the card over to Hisako, with her number on it. "If you guys want, I can pay for dinner, so order whatever you want."

"So, you guys know Sam and Jay and went to school with them, huh? What do you guys do now that you graduated?"

* * *

"Well thank you!" Hisako says brightly. Then, immediately, "Cryptocurrency."

"Her too," she says, nodding to Laura. "We lost our butts, though, which is why we're back at school." She takes hold of Laura's arm briefly - it turns out not to be necessary, but she does pivot the wrist to take a photo of the card before claiming the actual card herself. Redundancy.

* * *

Jeez, what did she think Laura was GOING to say that necessitated that level of bizarro covert story? Hisako's excuse / story draws a slow blink from Laura. She is not, of course, unfamiliar with the concept but it is a very… specifically particular sort of lie! However, she does not contradict her comrade in apparent internet poverty. "… my studies have always been security related. We are taking some additional classes now, yes." Other than this whole strange topic, she allows Hisako to make use of her arm for a few more moments before it is returned.

"I do not think a full meal is necessary now," she then informs Andrea. "We still have a few more miles to do after this. Hisako simply wanted to stop in and be social." And eat fries. But the socializing is definitely blamed on her friend. "But it wouldn't be prudent to eat anything too heavy. Probably back at school."

* * *

Sam Guthrie looks to them, and says "Well, if you two want to put off your run till the morning, and hang out Ah can get you back to the school once Ah get off work." He will tell them. He looks over to Laura and Hisako have a possible new person am bringing out to the school soon bringing her out to meet Dani.

* * *

"Well, I can pay for fries and the entire table. So, whatever you guys want." Andrea assures them with a smile. "But, if you guys want to hang out tomorrow, maybe I can take you two shopping with me? I'm dying for a gal pal and if you're friends with Sam, I'm down." As Jay's band finishes, she pushes herself upwards with a wobble, then grins. "I'm going to see my man and then tell him how amazing he sounded. I'm his ride home. It was great to meet you guys." She assures honestly. With that, she limps slowly towards the stage so that she can meet the red winged mutant, wrapping her arms about him in a hug, followed by a PDA kiss.

* * *

"Yeah," Hisako tells Sam, "I just wanted some fries because I'm getting shagged out." She does look like she could use fried potatoes in her life. It's not the usual problem you get in America. "Haha — awesome. Take care of yourself. And hey, don't worry about -"

"She's not worried," Hisako says to Laura. "Thanks for backing me up."

* * *

"I don't really ne-" And here, shockingly, Laura actually catches herself. 'I dont need to go shopping, I have plenty of functional clothing for different environments' or some crap like that would be the typical murder-drone response. But… people have tried this with her. She knows what Andrea actually means - its a social outing, something normal women their age enjoy. So, she pauses, and then answers instead: "… if you want to go out a bit, that would be nice." Progress!

After that, they have fries to demolish and then more miles to cover. Rah rah.

* * *

Sam Guthrie looks to the girls while Andrea is away from the table. "She does not know about the X-stuff. She is a good girl, and ya let her she will end up buying you a crap ton of stuff, she enjoys it."
