Well some of the documents are done, birth certificate and social security card. She has realized she has no picture of Gwen so the whole passport and driver's licenses were beyond Jessica's ability to make this happen.

A call is placed and Jessica invited Gwen to meet her on a rooftop in Brooklyn. After she gets off the phone though she realizes logistically this would be very difficult for Daisy who is still healing. Well. Shoot. Jessica will be headed into this alone then. Which it may be best to share that she had help without help sitting there being all obvious anyhow.

Jess will definitely not be late though, hanging out on the rooftop waiting and reading the news on her phone. Her hearing is ridiculously sharp as she stays attuned to her environmental despite skimming with little flicks of her thumb on the touch screen.

* * *

Spider-Woman has some time to kill, what with having no band or job or friends in this dimension, so she's also not late to the meeting, landing on the appointed rooftop with a fairly soft thud despite the velocity she'd been swinging at to get here. "Hey, Other Spider-Woman," she greets jauntily. "What's up?"

* * *

Well unless someone is psychically surveiling the situation Jessica is pretty damn certain no one is on the other rooftops or snooping in on them.

Jess has on her usual out and about uniform, which looks mostly like a stylish jacket and leather pants, glasses tucked in a pocket. "Hey Spider-Gwen." there is a bit of a smile, if crooked there as she watches the other spider.

Jess leans down and snags a bag of Big Belly Burgers and tosses them your way. Variety of sandwiches. "So I have some stuff for you, beyond the burgers. How you doing?"

* * *

Gwen catches the bag because that's what spider-reflexes are for, swallows her pride, and says sincerely, "Thank you, Jess. Really. You didn't have to look out for me like this, and I appreciate it. And… I guess I'm doing fine. I'm tracking down leads on some people I care about. That's nice, at least. How are you?"

* * *

Jess shrugs "When I became aware I was with a man who treated me like a test subject. I left and he didn't even care having gotten the answers he wanted. Hydra found me, no idea if you know what they are, but they tried to make me an assassin." there is a sigh.

"I wish someone had been there to lend me a hand and just help me. SHIELD Eventually gave me that help and gave me a home but my first five years were really bad. So I am trying to do what I wish I had .. helping people." a smile is offered. "As for how I am now.. well uh… struggling with moral quanadries and committing treason but I think I'm doing the right thing."

* * *

Gwen blinks. You can't see it through the mask, but it's pretty clear in how suddenly, briefly still her whole body is before she cautiously asks, "Uh, anything you need help with?"

* * *

Jess blinks at the tension and then ohs. "I was referring to the hacking and creating our identity and not reporting you Gwen. I'm not doing anything I can't sleep well about at night or anything." she fishes in her jacket, not pulling out a gun but an envelope. "I got a birth certificate and social security card… no photo so you get to experience the joy of our DMV." She pauses. "I did need help though."

* * *

There's obviously a hint being dropped there, but Gwen isn't quite picking up on what it is. "Is everything okay with your helper?" she asks.

* * *

"You've met her actually, helped save people when she lost control. Daisy is my hacker friend and I got her help fixing these up for you. She is a big fan." Jessica offers the envelope.

* * *

Daisy? Wow. Small world. Gwen accepts the envelope with fingers numb for reasons that have nothing to do with the cold, and she mechanically shifts it from one hand to the other until she remembers she has no bag to store it in. Her amazement isn't helping anything, though, so she shakes her head briskly to clear it. "She shouldn't be. She's the one who inspires me."

* * *

"Daisy is a good person. I'm going to be training her how to harness her new thing…" Jess rubs her fingers together with spark with bioelectric energy. "I really had no control when I first woke up. I figure some of it has to be transferable knowledge. As for what you did … well you really helped save the day in that cafe Gwen. It helped convince me I was doing the right thing helping you. I think Daisy feels the same way." A chuckle. "She was super excited to be doing espionage and hacking to help you. I'm glad you're not upset I shared with her."

* * *

Gwen shakes her head immediately. "No. She's great. I just wish I'd been more open with her when we met. I've been more protective of my identity than she deserves. I hope I get to see her again so I can make it right."

* * *

"Well I can pass along your burner phone number if you want?" Jess seems open to it. She fishes down and pulls up a coffee that was sitting by her and takes a sip. "I have a question for you though. How did you make your thwippers. You all seem to have them. Or … do you actually produce webs… from your arms?"

* * *

"They're not from me, but I didn't make them," Gwen has to admit, a little embarrassed despite there being no reason to be embarrassed she can't invent magical, impossible devices on her own. "A friend made them. She's not with us, or I'd ask her for help. And…" Gwen pauses to struggle with something for a second (hard to guess what because of her damn mask) before she decides, a little smile evident in her voice, "Yeah, please give her my number. I'd like that."

* * *

"Damn… too bad they aren't here. Are they hard to use?" Jessica muses and then nods. "I'll slip her the phone number. She got let loose from house arrest so she can actually go get her own Starkbucks." Amusement there.

* * *

"They're kind of hard to master things like thickness and spray area, but as far as just putting a line of web on something, that's pretty point and click," Gwen explains. "It took me a while to get it, but I did get it down."

* * *

"Wonder if any of our science nerds could figure it out. Maybe I'll track down one of the boy spiders and ask them." A light shrug from Jess. "So.. oh hey right." and Jess will dig out another envelope and offer it to you, if Gwen opens it there is about five hundred in cash. "DMV Fees."

* * *

DMV fees nothing! Five hundred dollars could buy fruit! Vegetables! Anything that isn't bread and meat! Gwen's hands tremble as she imagines broccoli; she has to suck her lips into her mouth and bite them to keep from drooling.

Steady, Gwen. Steady. You might need this money for everything Jess says. Be patient. Salads will come tomorrow.

"Thank you, Jess," Gwen says a little hoarsely, and clears her throat.

* * *

Jess smiles, she can hear the reaction. She pushes up off the ledge she was sitting on and steps over closely, just a bit. "Want a hug?" It seems like an open offer. "Also I like helping people… I know I am helping people at work but it's nice to help someone I actually know.

"Welcome to being a real girl Spider-Gwen." The smile is back, Jess doing a Pinocchio riff.

* * *

Hugs feel a little weird when offered rather than given, but you have to respect that Jess respects Gwen's pretty obvious need for privacy enough to ask, so Gwen takes a quick hug before stepping back. "Thanks, Spider-Jess," she returns.
